What Will you be Tasked With?
  • Receives and processes intake data from the Agency's referral sources.
  • Works closely with billing and accounting personnel in verifying and establishing authorization for treatment of agency’s clientele.
  • Ensures compliance with all state, federal and agency referral/intake requirements.
  • Obtains patient demographics, physician name, diagnosis, etc., to ensure referral information is complete.
  • Establishes and maintains positive working relationships with current and potential referral sources. Interacts directly with sales team regarding incoming referrals.
  • Acts as a liaison among Agency’s personnel, client/client’s family members and physicians when necessary.
  • Maintains a close personal, business-like relationship with the medical community and other health related entities.
  • Advises the Manager/Administrator on current events, problems, and Agency’s operations on a daily basis, or as needed.
  • The jobholder must demonstrate current competencies applicable to the job position.

Environmental Conditions and Physical Requirements
Work may require hand dexterity for office machine operation, stooping and bending to files and supplies, mobility to complete errands, or sitting for extended periods of time. Work is performed in an office environment. Involves frequent contact with staff and the public. Work may be stressful at times. Contact may involve dealing with angry or upset people.

Minimum Requirements:
  • Typing ability of at least 45 wpm and word processing experience.
  • Working knowledge and understanding of the functional organizational make-up of the home Health Agency.
  • Knowledge of organization policies, procedures, and systems.
  • Ability to plan, coordinate, direct and control the health services of the agency with an understanding of statistical recording and reporting.
  • Knowledge of grammar, spelling, and punctuation to type from draft copy, review and edit reports, and correspondence.
  • Demonstrates a strong public relation focus and customer first orientation. Ability to deal tactfully with the public and demonstrate a team mentality.
Preferred Requirements:
  • Minimum of one year of administrative experience in a professional office environment, preferred. (Preferably with a health care organization)
