Intake Specialist Job at Siena Francis House
PURPOSE: The Miracles Intake Specialist will be responsible for overseeing the referral and intake process. This position’s primary role will be to support individuals through the application, screening, and intake processes into the Siena Francis Miracles Treatment Program. This position serves under the direction of the Clinical Director and will have knowledge of alcohol and chemical dependency, co-occurring disorders, and homeless issues.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Review and track all applications for eligibility appropriateness into the Miracles treatment Program.
- Continually responds to emails, calls, and faxes concerning the application and intake processes
- Establish and maintain productive and professional relationships with referral sources such as Douglas County Detox, Probation/Parole/Pre-Trial/Drug Court officers, Hospitals, and Therapists.
- Answer questions and advise walk-in applicants with regard to admission processes and related concerns
- Schedule in person or phone screenings for all eligible applicants, screen applicants, and make recommendations based on screening
- Schedule intakes for persons screened and appropriate for our level of care, and complete intake
- Provide occasional administrative support
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Assist with completion of application process and maintain client records
- Contact new applicants through phone calls and/or emails to coordinate a screening and document contacts and efforts
- Schedule and complete intakes
- Ensure existing referral spreadsheets and waitlists are up-to-date at the end of each work day
- Schedule meeting times for the multidisciplinary team (MDT), send reminders, and track attendance
- Assign incoming clients to their counselor/therapist.
- Complete pre-authorizations for services through Medicaid, Region IV and other relevant funding sources
- Other tasks as assigned
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
- Bachelor’s degree preferred. Must have a high school diploma with at least 3 years’ experience working in a Human Services setting such as Case Management, Social Work, Advocacy, Support Work/Peer Support, or relevant discipline
- Must have good working knowledge of e-mail, Internet, basic computer software, to include but not limited to Word and Excel,
- Must be able to operate common office equipment, to include but not limited to scanners and printers
- Experience in working with diverse populations to include homeless/near homeless, substance use, and mental health disorders
- Strong desire to help persons succeed in pursuing a life of sobriety
WORK ENVIRONMENT:

Some shifts may be fast-paced, require extended work hours, and shifting priorities, that may contribute to physical and mental stress.
