Job Role Summary

• 
  Instrument Technicians troubleshoot, repair, remove, and install electronic controllers, transmitters, control valves, regulators, and various other electronic/pneumatic devices.
• The job involves working at heights and working outdoors in all weather conditions.
• Work schedule is days with occasional shift work including weekends, holidays, and overtime.
• Jobs are located at the Beaumont Chemical Plant in Beaumont, TX.

Job Role Responsibilities

• 
  Safely perform duties with strict adherence to procedures, use of personal protective equipment (PPE), and company policy.
• Take ownership of personal safety and safety of co-workers and community.
• Troubleshoot electrical equipment, use test equipment, and understand electrical safety.
• Install, troubleshoot, and maintain process control loops and instrumentation including but not limited to:
• Pressure transmitters and switches
• Displacer level transmitters
• Guided wave radar level transmitters
• Temperature transmitters and switches
• Flow measurement devices
• Troubleshoot and repair interlock control systems
• Work with Programmable Logic Control systems.
• Read electrical drawings, industry relevant blueprints including P&ID’s, and loop drawings.
• Stay abreast of instrumentation/control responsibilities as industry trends and technology change.

Job Requirements

• 
  Must be at least 18 years of age
• Possess valid drivers’ license
• Currently possess or be able to qualify for a Transportation Worker Identification Credential (TWIC)
• Able and willing to work shift work, weekends, holidays, and overtime
• Able and willing to work outside in all weather conditionsAble and willing to work at heights above 25 feet and wear fall protection harness.
• Able and willing to work in confined spaces
• Able and willing to work both independently in remote locations and in a team environment

Preferred Knowledge/Skills/Abilities (KSA's)

• 
  Desire and ability to be a leader in personal safety.
• Basic computer skills (e.g. Microsoft Office)

This Operations and Mechanical (O&M) position requires pre-employment testing. After applying you will receive a pop up giving you access to the assessment. You may take the assessment at that time or utilize the instructions below to access the assessment at a time convenient for you. Note that the assessment must be completed by the deadline in order for you to be considered for the O&M position for which you have applied.

IMPORTANT
The O&M test has been revised. Effective December 1, 2021 ALL candidates must complete the revised assessment. Even if you have tested within the last 365 days (passed or failed), if you tested before December 1, 2021, you must complete the revised assessment to be considered for this O&M opportunity. Failure to complete the assessment by the deadline will result in your disqualification from consideration for this position. The assessment is the same for all O&M requisitions. If you have completed the assessment after December 1, 2021, your assessment results will be mapped to this requisition when you try to access the test. Test passed candidates will be screened by the hiring team and a subset invited for interview. Note that a satisfactory result on the assessment does not guarantee an interview.
