A wonderful family is seeking an experienced Houseman. This position will be hands on and working alongside the Property Manager. This position will split time between properties in Palm Beach and Miami-Dade county.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for performance of preventive and general maintenance and cleaning duties at various family residences
  • Coordinates, oversees, and manages repairs, building maintenance, and landscaping work performed by staff, vendors, and contractors
  • Responsible for coordination and oversite of facilities inspections and reports
  • Obtains and reviews price quotes for the procurement of parts, services, and labor for projects
  • Oversees capital projects, including preparation of capital project and operating budgets
  • Manages vendor relationships
  • Wipes down all outdoor furniture and removes/replaces covers property-wide daily
  • Washes windows and pressure-washes all hard surfaces (patios, driveways, steps, walkways, etc.)
  • Vacuums and skims pools and spas; cleans pool and spa filters
  • Washes and details vehicles, ensures that vehicles are ready at all times, including filling fuel and stocking preferred items
  • Performs light interior and exterior trade household maintenance, including plumbing, electric, HVAC, drywall/painting, appliances, TVs
  • Changes A/C filters, cleans drains, and adds algae tabs
  • Maintains all in-house water filters (under sinks, countertops, and ice makers)
  • Replaces light bulbs property-wide (household perimeter)
  • Receives deliveries (UPS/FedEx) to residence and storage facilities; performs assembly or installation of items received
  • Ships packages via FedEx store
  • Takes out all household trash/boxes - daily
  • Waters, prunes, and cares for all indoor plants
  • Regular driving of family, guests, or staff (including luggage valet) to airport, errands, or appointments
  • Performs hurricane preparations at properties, as needed
  • Responds to special requests or tasks requested by the family or their guests.
  • Maintains confidentiality at all times.

Supervisory Responsibilities

This job has no supervisory responsibilities, however, will assist with providing direct supervision to vendors, seasonal employees, and other staff as necessary. Plans and monitors appropriate utilization of labor, including overtime. Leads by example and models behaviors that are consistent with the Company's values.

Education and/or Experience

High school diploma or general education degree (GED) plus a minimum of four (4) years of relevant experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Prior experience managing building systems required.

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations

Must have valid Driver’s License with an acceptable driving record under insurance policy, or ability to obtain prior to beginning employment.
