Host/Food Runner Job at State of Mind Public house and Pizzeria
State of Mind Public House and Pizzeria, a family owned, casual pizzeria located in Downtown Los Altos, is seeking a part time Host/Food Runner to round out our professional, dedicated team. This is a key role for our restaurant. Applicants for this position must understand the true meaning of hospitality and be able to remain graceful and genuine with a smile, even under pressure.

Job duties include but are not limited to:
- Greeting guests warmly and with a smile upon their arrival and escorting them to a table with menu and server information once seated.
- Quoting table times and organizing a guest list
- Being a team player and promoting quality service
- Oversee dining room activity to ensure guest seating efficiency
- Maintaining a clean and organized station. Ensure the cleanliness of menus and dining areas
- Respond to guest inquiries related to operating hours, reservations, and directions to restaurant
- Complete all side work requirements prior, during and after shift
- Perform other duties as assigned by a supervisor
- Visually inspect all plates prior to delivery to include verifying portion, presentation and guest’s specifications.
- Set up and stock product for each shift; maintain backup storage, and clean, sanitize and maintain slide area, equipment, utensils, and tools.

State of Mind is a family owned pizzeria originating in Los Altos, CA. We were awarded World’s Best Non-Traditional Pizza at the 2017 International Pizza Expo. We make our pizza with slow proofed dough. California cheese, and organic Bianco Dinapoli tomato sauce. However, we aren’t just a pizzeria; We have a diverse menu with plates to share, fresh salads, sandwiches, wings and a few desserts. We make our food from scratch by hand, featuring local ingredients. This is how we eat as a family and we want to share it with the community. We have curated a rotating tap list of our favorite craft breweries from throughout the state that include IPAs, Pale Ales, Lagers, Stouts, Sours, Browns, Saisons and more! We also feature wine from independent wineries throughout california.
