JOB SUMMARY

The Heavy Equipment/Loader Operator is responsible for operating heavy industrial equipment and most specifically front-end loaders to lift, roll, haul, load, unload, and move supplies and materials on the jobsite.

This position reports directly to the equipment foreman or lead operator. The heavy equipment operator may also operate all equipment on the job site including, but not limited to excavator, dozers, tractor-trailers, front-end loaders, snow blowers and lowboy trailers. Operator is responsible for performing daily walk-around inspection of tractor-trailer and/or equipment, load inspections, and properly securing equipment weighing up to 125,000 pounds. Must be able to interpret load charts and determine load capacities for different tractor-trailer configurations. Inspect all load-securing devices. Other duties may be assigned as business needs require, including occasional roustabout duties. This position supports the winter drilling season at Alpine.

• Operate heavy equipment such as excavators, bulldozers, front end loaders, heavy trucks, and other heavy machinery to lift, roll, haul, load and unload materials and equipment, move soil, gravel, snow, construction supplies, and other materials.
• Snow removal will be a major component of this position and previous experience is highly desirable.
• Will be required to work outside in cold and adverse weather conditions.
• Prepare, update, and maintain logs, records, and equipment maintenance schedules.
• Monitor equipment operation and identify malfunctions.
• Inspect, adjust, and perform minor equipment repairs.
• Prepare and maintain inventory of supplies and equipment.
• Clean, store, and maintain equipment as required.
• Comply with Company and customer policies and procedures.
• Support AES zero-incident safety culture and assume personal accountability and responsibility for safe work practices in all projects, activities, and operations

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE

Minimum of five years of experience operating heavy equipment in the oil and gas industry required.

Within seven (7) days of arrival at job location employee must demonstrate the ability to pass a written and practical competency equipment evaluation.

CERTIFICATIONS

Class A commercial driver’s license with current DOT medical card required. Driving record must meet Company requirements. North Slope Training Cooperative certification may be required.

A candidate must be able to meet the following non-exclusive requirements:

• Meet the AES Driving Records and Motor Vehicle Use Policy.
• Take and pass a pre-employment drug test which may include both UA and hair testing.
• Meet the physical requirements of this position including working in a remote location under arctic conditions.
• Required to take and pass a Fit-For-Duty Exam.
• Required to complete and successfully pass a background check.
• Must be able to obtain and maintain an access badge for the work location.
