About the Opportunity
Position Summary:
The position is a half-time, non-tenure track, one-year renewable appointment. Candidates for a half-time Teaching Professor position within the Graduate School of Education must demonstrate a commitment to and a successful record with graduate teaching with a diverse student body, experience with and enthusiasm for the online context, expertise in Higher Education Administration, Transformative School Leadership or Innovative Teaching and Learning and expertise/experience with Action Research.
The candidate will teach four courses per year and serve as a Dissertation Chair for 20 doctoral candidates and on dissertation committees.
The position is based online, and most GSE faculty are remote. There may be some travel to Boston, MA, Seattle, WA or Charlotte, NC for convenings. Courses are taught fully online and a thoughtful comfort level with online instruction (Canvas is employed) is critical.
Faculty enjoy a collegial work environment that allows for work-life balance and are expected to be available to students online as needed for their course and dissertation work. The faculty member will report directly to the Director of the EdD program.
Qualifications
Qualifications:
  • EdD or PhD in education or a related field
  • 5-10 years professional experience
  • Experience working with adult learners
  • Online course development, facilitation and innovative use of technology in support of learning
  • Expertise in Action Research
  • Expertise in Higher Education Administration, Transformative School Leadership or Workplace Learning
  • Experience teaching in professional doctorates
