Bowie House, Auberge Resorts is an imaginative and bold new urban retreat that draws visitors to a place whose history is built on tales of frontier valor and adventure. An exciting gathering space for locals and visitors alike, the four-story, 106-room boutique hotel will feature 88 rooms and 18 suites, including a 2,250 square foot signature suite. Luxurious spaces weave together details from Western culture and style like boot jacks and hat racks with contemporary furnishings, lighting and artwork creating feelings of welcome and warmth.
A social hub for locals and visitors, Bowie House offers numerous spaces for visitors to enjoy the conviviality and camaraderie that have distinguished the location for so many years. Visitors can sip cocktails in the library lounge, visit the signature restaurant with views of the enchanting outdoor terraces or relax in cabanas on the second story outdoor infinity pool overlooking a peaceful garden oasis.
ROLE SUMMARY
Join the new Bowie House as the Group Sales Manager and become one of the authors of our story. The Group Sales Manager is responsible for identifying and sourcing group business in accordance with the collection’s strategic plan to maximize room revenue during peak and nonpeak periods. Responsible for meeting or exceeding target group sales goals by leveraging all available sources from existing business relationships, to prospective inquiries to new business prospects within the assigned sales territory.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Perform other duties as directed, developed or assigned.
Be available to meet clients, both corporate and entertainment, any day of the week, by scheduling site inspections and meeting with walk-in prospective clients to show and describe rooms and services.
Meet or exceed quarterly and annual sales goals by ensuring repeat business through positive customer relationship management and prospecting for new business.
Maintain complete knowledge of scheduled in-house group activities, locations and times.
Respond in a timely manner to all sales inquiry calls, internet inquiries; all sales leads in assigned territory.
Manage relationships with accounts to achieve repeat bookings and ensure that all information/history in Delphi is current and accurate.
Prepare month end sales reports outlining new prospective, tentative and definite business as well as site visits and sales call activities.
Compile quarterly action plans 2 weeks prior to commencement of the quarter to review with DOS. At the end of quarter, review past quarter’s actions plan and revenue targets and agree next quarter’s revenue targets.
Plan and execute sales trips to assigned territory as directed and defined in the hotel's marketing plan. Calls to include corporate and entertainment accounts, (decision-makers, influencers, bookers and corporate travel agents).
Maintain accurate databases of corporate accounts (both decision-makers, influencers and corporate agents/bookers) and travel agents and conduct regular mailings and e-mails as required to promote any tactical offers
Troubleshoot guest problems as appropriate, using discretion and good judgement; interact with supervisor and department heads to ensure guest satisfaction in all aspects of group stays.
Establish rapport and work closely with meeting planners and third-party event management companies.
Negotiate contracts based on knowledge of property and property limitations.
Work closely with the sales coordinator to ensure timely deposits, follow up with accurate guest information, and process payments.
Promote positive guest relations at all times by anticipating guests’ needs, responding promptly and acknowledging all guests, however busy and whatever time of day.
Be familiar with all hotel services and features, local attractions and activities and their hours of operation, to respond accurately to any guest inquiry.
Field guest complaints by following procedures and ensuring guest satisfaction.
Foster and promote a cooperative working climate, maximizing productivity and associate morale. Prepare all appropriate written documentation for group room blocks.
Attend and participate in all Hotel and Sales meetings as scheduled.
Develop new accounts in the corporate group business segment from within assigned sales territory.
Maintain a relationship with business contacts throughout the planning of bookings.
Maintain a close relationship with the Director of Sales and Sales Coordinator to ensure the department runs smoothly and that group sales initiatives are coordinated.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Previous experience as Sales Manager in the luxury group resort market.
Familiar with booking and sales contracts.
Ability to communicate in English with guests, management and co-workers to their understanding..
Working relationship with top destination management companies, incentive houses and national corporate accounts in assigned sales territory.
PREFERRED SKILLS
Must possess a thorough understanding of Bowie House group sales contracts and be able to effectively negotiate, set appropriate expectations and provide clear explanations of any and all elements of the contract for the client.
Must possess broad knowledge of all aspects of high-end hotel operations, with strong emphasis on sales.
Ability to prospect for new business, creating new leads and awareness of Bowie House throughout assigned sales territory.
Ability to present effectively to both large and small groups.
Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing, using correct spelling and grammar.
Knowledge of Opera, Salesforce and Google Suite software.
Knowledge of the local geographic area, competitors, and business trends.
Knowledge of destination, activities, food & beverage and spa
Gourmet food and beverage background and customer service skills
Ability to work flexible schedule, to include weekend and evenings as needed for the benefit of departmental coverage
TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS
Some local, regional and U.S. travel may be required
