FACILITATOR (New Beginnings Youth Center)

Part-time | SAME DAY PAYMENT

Schedule: Wednesdays (6 pm - 8 pm)

POSITION SUMMARY

Community Tech is an Information Technology services company with over 11 years of service to both the commercial and public sectors. We are a small minority-owned business located in Washington DC, that takes pride in maintaining strong and extended business relationships with clients such as the District

Government, Veterans Affairs, Wine.com, Career Team, Marriott, Providence Medical Building, Bowie

State University, and ResCare Inc., to name a few.

The primary duties of the Facilitator at the New Beginnings Youth Center; in collaboration with Community Tech, LLC involves, training youth participating in the automotive, serve safe customer service, and graphic arts certification programs at the New Beginnings Detention Facility for Adjudicated Youth, located in Laurel, Maryland. It is the responsibility of the Facilitator to properly train the participants in certification curriculum such as, but not limited to: OSHA, digital literacy, customer service, and digital arts.

Responsibilities

  • Facilitate in-classroom learning and hands-on training with a diverse group of students
  • Educate students on relevant safety requirements, laws, and regulations pertaining to automotive trades, serve safe customer service, and digital arts.
  • Provide students with knowledge in employability skills, as it relates to obtaining employment in the selective fields.
  • Support efforts to complete monthly progress reports for student participants and ensure the Director of Operations receives appropriate documents in a timely fashion.
  • Report regularly to the Education Coordinator on the progress being made
  • Assure computer equipment is functioning and appropriately utilized by the participants (If any challenges with the equipment please enter a help desk ticket)
  • Attend weekly staff meetings
  • Attend regular supervision sessions.

Requirements

  • Must be able to pass a background check
  • Must be PREA (Prison Rape Elimination Act) compliant
  • Must have a valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
  • Must be computer skills literate (Microsoft Office Suite) to include but not limited to; Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Outlook, and Microsoft PowerPoint)

Under the supervision of the Education Coordinator, the Facilitator will deliver various certificate-based training to youth and adult participants in the New Beginnings Youth Center, located in Laurel, MD.

COVID-19 considerations:

All customers and employees are required to wear a mask, common surfaces are sanitized regularly, and proof of vaccination is required.

This is a public-facing position. Telework for “emergency / special” situations must be approved in advance by Community Tech CEO or his designee.

Job Types: Part-time, Contract

Pay: $75.00 - $100.00 per day
