Aerospace Welding Minneapolis, Inc. (AWI) and Aerospace Manufacturing, Inc. (AMI) are Minnesota-grown companies looking for a General Laborer to join our team.
AWI-AMI is located in Eagan, MN and is comprised of two companies under one roof, both designed to service multiple aspects of aerospace and aviation customer needs.
Aerospace Welding Minneapolis, Inc. (AWI), was founded in 1993, which is an FAA Certified Repair Station with a focus on Exhaust Systems and Engine Mounts. AWI touts the world’s largest general aviation aircraft exhaust and engine mount repair & overhaul center! We offer our customers new FAA PMA (Federal Aviation Administration – Parts Manufacturer Approval) and overhauled replacement parts for all models of exhaust, cabin heat shrouds, engine, and turbo mounts.
The second company is Aerospace Manufacturing, Incorporated (AMI), which was founded three years later in 1996. AMI is the OEM component of our manufacturing center with a focus on Tubular Welded Components, Metal Fabrication and Precision machining. Our core competencies include Welding, Tubing and Pipe Bending on Aluminum, Steel, and Inconel products.
Key Responsibilities
AWI seeks a general laborer to with a background in assembly and manufacturing to perform the following.
1) Perform various metal assembly functions such as: riveting, drilling, countersinking, grinding, shearing, fabricating, etc.
2) Sand and deburr metal parts
3) Utilize parts washers to clean and dry piece parts and small tubular assemblies
4) Other manufacturing responsibilities as assigned
Requirements:Education and Experience
- HS Diploma or GED required
- Able to work efficiently with minimal supervision
- Able to stand or sit for long periods at a time
- Willing and able to follow both verbal and written work instructions
- Physically able to lift, carry and move up to 50lbs
- General manufacturing assembly and fabrication experience is preferred
Required Technical Competencies
1) Mechanical Aptitude – demonstrated examples (on the job or outside of work) showing competency to work with hands. Might include items such as body work skills, crate repair, general wrenching ability, construction work, etc.
2) Manual Dexterity – Ability to perform a job that requires detailed handwork
3) Experience with Process Standards – Demonstrated ability to read, understand and execute to written instruction
4) Computer Skills – experience with entering and retrieving data from a computer
