Full-time Direct Support Professional - Coralville (Compressed schedule)

Systems Unlimited, Inc. one of the largest employer in Iowa City is looking to hire Full-time Direct Support Professionals (DSP). This position guarantees 37.5 hours per week in a compressed work week.

Scheduling Details

Our 12-hour shift schedule options are as follows:

Option 1: Work Sunday, plus Monday, Tuesday or Wednesday (one position available)

Option 2: Work Saturday, plus Wednesday, Thursday, or Friday (one position available)

Resting Overnights: Three 12 hour overnight shifts (8p to 8a) any night of the week. (one position available)

Pay Rate

$12 for resting overnight portion of your shift (i.e. 11p to 7a). Other hours paid at regular rate.

$14 - $16 for all other shifts (regular rate of pay depends upon experience and education)

The Job: As a DSP, you will join a team of others who support people with disabilities in their homes by providing:

• Assistance to allow people served to live more independently and happily in their homes by working with them to achieve their personal goals, e.g. healthy eating, exercising, or doing fun activities in their home.
• Assist with day-to-day needs (transportation, cleaning, bathing, preparing meals, medical appointments, etc.)
• Go with people served in the community to do activities (Shopping, Special Olympics, movies, etc.)
• Provide encouragement and coaching to people who are working to develop daily living skills & healthy habits.
• Write documentation about the support you provided during your shift.
• Work with a variety of needs including medical, behavioral, and mental health supports.
• Full-time staff may be assigned some administrative tasks each week to help them grow and learn skills they need to advance.
