My Auto Store state-of-the-art automotive disassembly plant in Camden, New Jersey has the capacity to dismantle 7000+ vehicles each month. We are one of the country’s largest automobile recyclers and your go-to source for used auto parts online – any year, any make, and any model. We have thousands of car parts listed on our online store ready to be shipped nationwide. We are currently looking for a dedicated Forklift Operator to assist with our warehouse/yard daily activities. This position will be based out of our Bayonne, NJ facility. The Forklift Operator  is a key player in the yards, allowing for the movement of materials between loading, processing and storage areas. The Forklift Operator must be a team player, able to work and communicate with our team, and to be able to safely work in a fast pace environment.

Responsibilities:

• Safely move around the facility, in tight areas, to stack, unload or load trucks.
• Operate heavy machinery and transport materials between loading, processing, and storage areas.
• Load or unload materials such as boxes, pallets, bales.
• Perform daily safety inspection on truck or auxiliary equipment.
• Follow safe loading/unloading procedures for trucks.
• Any task assigned by management.
• Coordinate with other forklift operators, increasing efficiency while mitigating accidents
• Transfer all necessary materials from one place to another; pick up falling material during transfer
• Manually move material from one place to another; manually fill and dump material bins.
• Identify, sort, label, move and transfer metal materials
• Dismantle/disassemble or take apart insulated wiring, small electric motors, and scrap components
• Pack or wrap material by hand; load, wrap, and prepare pallets for shipment
• Use signals, when necessary, to assist machine operators who are moving larger pieces of material
• Ensure a clean and orderly workplace; clean and prepare sites by removing debris and possible hazards
• Adhere to, evaluate and maintain proper service logs and maintenance requirements
• Follow production plans and instructions from supervisors or more experienced workers
• Adhere to operating and health and safety protocols
• Other duties as assigned

Requirements:

• Minimum 2+ years of consecutive sit-down forklift work experience
• OSHA/Safety certification preferred, but not required
• Ability to use variety of hand tools such as snip cutters, brooms, and shovels, etc.
• Ability to work independently as well as within a team environment
• Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds frequently
• Ability to work overhead, climb ladders, kneel, and stand for long periods
• Ability to work in all elements such as rain, cold, and heat
• Ability to handle stressful situations, manages time, and multitasks
• Ability to communicate effectively in both spoken and written form

ENVIRONMENTAL JOB REQUIREMENTS AND WORKING CONDITIONS:

Work is generally performed outdoors in all-weather elements such as hot, cold, rain, or snow and personal protective equipment is required. Working hours may vary and evening or weekend work may be required. You may be required to lift and carry weights up to 75 lbs.
