The primary job responsibilities for this position are the management of the month-end close processes for Corporate Finance as well as preparing and analyzing monthly reports, budgets, and P&L’s. The Financial Analyst will also assist with monitoring and testing internal controls and will propose and implement process improvements to optimize reporting within the Finance function. This position will be required to work closely with and to maintain strong lines of communication between the Finance department and other business functions. This is a hybrid role based in our Chicago Loop corporate office/2 days per week in office.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Manage SG&A budgets: preparing monthly forecast and variance analysis for each cost center, annual budget and ad-hoc reporting/analysis when needed.
  • Prepare and analyze P&L statements using the BPC reporting tool. Prepare analysis and commentary for the monthly financial reporting package used for reporting results to US and Global management.
  • Act as a key partner to the Corporate Accounting team to ensure proper preparation and delivery of various month-end closing procedures in SAP. Prepare and post journal entries, cost center cycles and internal order settlements according to the monthly closing calendar.
  • Support the Internal Control function by performing periodic testing of controls.
  • Drive process improvement and automation in Excel, PowerPoint and PowerBI to improve and simplify reporting for the Finance team.
  • Participate in special projects and other duties as assigned.

Qualifications and Competencies

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Finance or Accounting
  • 1- to 3 years of experience in Finance, Accounting or Audit. Industry experience within manufacturing and/or consumer products is a plus.
  • Must possess superior capabilities in Microsoft Office programs (Excel, Word, and PowerPoint); in particular, advanced Excel skills, including experience creating pivot tables and V look up tables. Power BI experience is a plus.
  • Familiar with financial reporting systems such as SAP and BPC
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Ability to work under strict deadlines with superior time management skills
  • A self-starter with an intellectual curiosity and a strong willingness to learn

Working Conditions: Work is performed largely in a hybrid work environment #LI: Hybrid, with 2 days in our Chicago office and balance work from home. Hours of work will generally be during regular business hours with at least 40 hours a week. At times there will be some variation in work hours due to special projects, deadlines and other concerns. Occasional travel will be required.
