Facilities Support Job at Hopkins Manufacturing Corporation
Responsible for completing all assigned projects throughout the facility in a safe and efficient manner.
- ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS/MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES
- Responsible for completing assigned projects in a timely manner and communicate status of open projects daily to Facility & Maintenance Supervisor
- Responsible for facility and grounds pick up of debris and outside audit of oil residue or other discharged materials
- Assists in other areas of the company, including facilities maintenance, as needed
- Flexible work hours and days as needed to ensure completion of projects
- Maintains and repairs ancillary equipment that supports production operations
- Assists with directing and escorting vendors as needed
- Tracks inventory and replenishes custodial supplies and oil containment supplies
- Responsible for repairing items in the yellow tag area
- Actively participates in Hopkins Safety Programs, such as Safety and PIE Help Desks, Behavior Based Safety Audits, Safe Work Cards, and reports all near miss and first aid events
- Promotes and maintains 6S principles throughout the facility
- EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Minimum of one year forklift experience preferred
- Welding experience preferred
- COMPETENCIES (Knowledge, Skills, Abilities)
- Mechanical aptitude preferred
- Ability to prioritize projects, stay focused on those priorities, and be self-managed
- Lock Out/Tag Out certification will be required
- Certification on all Powered Industrial Equipment (PIE) from company will be required
- Travel Required
- Project management skills required
- Must be very safety and quality conscious
- Ability to use standard powered and non-powered tools
- Strong reading, mathematical, communication skills (written and verbal), time management required
- Ability to work well with others required and understand and follow both oral and written instructions
- Computer literacy, Microsoft office products required
Work Environment: Work conditions are consistent with maintaining and repairing equipment in a manufacturing environment. Frequent exposure to manufacturing operations requires the understanding and use of required PPE applicable to that environment. The ability to tolerate extreme temperatures while working in the production environment is a requirement. Standing, walking, stooping and bending are frequent activities that must be physically tolerated while maintaining good workflow and applied ergonomics. The employee must be able to lift up to 60 pounds.
