Job Overview:
The Facilities Manager will be responsible for and supervising the maintenance, care, a nd efficient operation of all equipment and the facility. The facilities manager will own and lead the maintenance department , building improvement projects, automation implementation and installation, and increasing production capacity through facility footprint adjustments and/or expansion. The facilities manager will report to the Director of Operations and be the key site leadership role.
Facilities Manager Essential functions and responsibilities :
Ensure day-to-day operation of the facility, medium to large injection molding machines, automation equipment including 6-axis robots , and auxiliary equipment.
Ownership of Preventive Maintenance Program for all equipment.
Daily leadership and coaching of maintenance staff.
Develop and maintain a training program for maintenance employees and ensure documentation of such. Assistance in training other facility personnel on equipment and automation as needed.
Identifying and leading 3rd party contractors to conduct work on target, in compliance, and safely on the facility floor.
Collaboration with EHS leadership to ensure all safety, environmental, and regulatory documentation is maintained.
Drive a continuous improvement culture within the maintenance department.
Lead and coach root cause analysis to identify issues and implementation of robust solutions to eliminate such issues from arising in the future.
Use of information tools, data, and data-based decisions to identify opportunities for improvement ( e.g., equipment efficiency and minimizing downtime).
Preparation and ownership of an annual maintenance budget with alignment of Corporate preferred supplier programs.
Ownership and assistance on capital projects to drive improvements , new equipment/production capability, and eliminate safety hazards.
Facilities Manager Competencies and Qualifications:
Minimum 3 years maintenance management/supervisory experience in a production facility, preferably injection molding with automation experience.
High School Diploma required. Preferably Bachelor’s degree in Facilities Management, Engineering, Business Administration, and/or Project Management.
Working knowledge of OSHA regulations.
Knowledge and experience with LEAN Six Sigma manufacturing and continuous improvement programs.
Experience in structured Maintenance Planning, Preventative Maintenance Programs, and Maintenance Work Scheduling process.
Good leadership skills with the ability to coach and grow others.
Ability to anticipate what needs to be done and commit to ownership to ensure it gets done.
Ability to create a team environment by sharing knowledge, involving all employees in developing solutions, and providing guidance, direction, feedback and recognition to the team.
Excellent analytical, problem solving and decision-making skills.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
