Excavation Project Manager/Estimator

Schifsky Companies, a fast growing small business providing excavation and civil construction services, we are seeking an experienced Excavation Project Manager/Estimator to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for managing all aspects of excavation projects, including bidding, estimating, coordinating with subcontractors, and ensuring timely project completion.

Responsibilities:

• Assemble bids for projects by networking with existing client base, public/private postings.
• Developing relationships with new client prospects.
• Study plans to get material takeoffs for estimating.
• Generate estimates for projects
• Work closely with Engineers asking any needed questions to create accurate estimates.
• Coordinate and schedule material deliveries and subcontractors to complete the project on time.
• Coordinate with surveyors as needed to ensure sites are ready, staked and GPS points are set.
• Coordinate pre-construction meetings with foreman and have all needed gps files prepped and ready for foreman to setup site.
• Obtain all necessary permits and licenses needed for projects.
• Create updated project schedules and keep all subcontractors on schedule.
• Troubleshoot project issues that arise and create change orders and get approval as needed before work is started.

Requirements:

• 5+ years of experience in excavation and civil construction project management.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite.
• Reliable transportation and ability to travel throughout Twin Cities and Western Wisconsin area.
