Environmental - Cultural Resources Field Technician - Remote US Job at Percheron Operating
Job Description:
Percheron is looking for Temporary (Full-Time) Cultural Resources Field Technicians across the US in performing Phase I survey support for various potential projects. Continuing employment opportunities will be presented throughout the season. Percheron environmental focuses on conducting resource surveys to support obtaining permits and clearances from environmental resource and government agencies. Percheron environmental specializes in natural and cultural resource compliance. Percheron provides flexibility to work remotely.
- Assist in Phase I cultural resources survey including pedestrian survey and shovel test excavation with the possibility of auger testing.
- Assist in field analysis of cultural materials and provide coordination with subcontractors and specialized analyses of cultural materials, as necessary.
- Assist in the processing, cataloging, analyzing, and curation of archaeological collections according to the specifications of the research design and the guidelines of the curation facility where collections will ultimately be housed.
- Assist in processing of post-‐field data.
- Assist in all aspects of archaeological projects, fieldwork, and deliverables.
- Maintain good working relationships in the field with state and federal agency staff, tribes, private sector clients, and other industry professionals.
- A Bachelor’s degree or higher in Archaeology, Anthropology, or a related field is required.
- Completion of an archeological field school is required.
- Experience in cultural resources management fieldwork is preferred.
- Familiarity with laboratory methods, procedures, and protocols for processing collections of archaeological materials preferred.
- Ability to work unsupervised, functioning as an effective, self-‐motivated, and highly capable individual.
- Familiarity with GPS devices and digital data collection.
- Team-‐orientated attitude with strong leadership and mentoring skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Current valid Driver’s License required.
- Must be able to travel to field locations and conduct fieldwork in varied terrain for extended periods of time in varying weather conditions
- Ability to work autonomously and to collaborate fully as a team player.
- Ability to pay close attention to details, and present good planning, organization, and time management skills.
- Ability to work in a team environment and willingness to assume additional or new responsibilities readily.
- Ability to maintain regular attendance as per work schedule agreed with manager (may require working an adjusted work schedule based on project assigned and work overtime if warranted).
- Ability to comply with applicable laws and regulations and Company policies and procedures.
