Moog is hiring an Electrical Product Engineer in our Aircraft Group for an onsite position in East Aurora, NY. This role requires up to 25% travel to customers, contract manufacturers, and suppliers domestically and internationally.

Basic Qualifications:

  • BS in Electrical Engineering with 3+ years of relevant technical experience
  • Working knowledge of electronic products, including top level, sub-assemblies, and component levels
  • Working knowledge of electronics assembly and test areas, including working with technicians
  • Working knowledge of electronics test and measurement equipment
  • General knowledge of printed circuit board (PCB) assembly processes
  • Experience collaborating at all levels of an organization, customers and/or suppliers
  • General knowledge in areas of Root Cause/Corrective Action, Project Planning, and Data Acquisition and Analysis

As an Electrical Product Engineer, you willprovide support for Aircraft programs in the New Product Introduction (NPI) through the sustainment (mature production) phases of the Product Life Cycle.

Reporting directly to the Product Engineering Manager, you will provide Engineering support to specific Products which can be more complex program in nature and provide technical guidance to Assembly and Test personnel or others in need for your product knowledge.

You will work with other teams to support the Assembly and Test operations. In some circumstances, you may take a leadership role for special projects.

Responsibilities:

  • Maintain product integrity, quality, and on-time delivery in production products by collaborating with other Moog resources to resolve production problems, performing Material Review Board analyses, and assisting in evaluation for possible notice of escape to customers.
  • Understand all design principles associated with the assigned product.
  • Identify producibility and quality improvements in production assembly/test and product design. Initiate these changes and plan for schedule impacts.
  • Facilitate design changes by redlining drawings, attending Change Review Board meetings, and initiating the Engineering Change Notices (ECN) process.
  • Develop equipment to meet production requirements for the operations department, including assembly fixtures and tools, production flow-line systems, and test equipment.
  • Track metrics including first pass yield (FPY) and product cost goals to improve company performance.
  • Initiate clear production assembly/test instructions to operations personnel, including formal Work Instructions, Acceptance Test Procedures, Engineering Memos, Electronic Historical Record entries and ECNs.
