The Donation Attendant accepts material goods donations by providing customer service to repeat and potential donors and maximizes the value of donated goods through proper handling, sorting and recording of inventory. This position may require working at various donation sites in San Francisco County. The Donation Attendant reports to the Donations Supervisor.

RESPONSIBILITIES :
    • Participate in all training activities to acquire skills on the job
    • Learn and apply company policies, procedures and guidelines to complete assigned duties
    • Greet donors and provide information about Goodwill’s donation policy, mission and programs; offer tax receipts to donors and provide assistance in unloading donations
    • Proper logging of donor counts on a daily basis including proper logging of all eWaste Donations
    • Handle goods and equipment properly to avoid damage or breakage
    • Assist drivers in loading / unloading of goods or equipment
    • Sort and label goods by category and place in proper containers or equipment
    • Stack donated goods neatly and safely
    • Maintain good housekeeping around donation area
    • Complete production and inventory reports; submit reports and information in a timely manner
    • Perform other related duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE :
    • Less than 1 year of related retail / customer services experience
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES :
    • Read and write English proficiently, or have enrolled in and are on track to successfully complete an approved ESL program
    • Basic mathematical skills
    • Ability to work respectfully and cooperatively with diverse group of individuals from a variety of educational, social and economic backgrounds
    • Respects and has knowledge of cultures, ethnicities, gender, sexual orientations and age groups other than one’s own, able to work effectively with all
    • Follow workplace quality and safety standards and contribute to a culture of safety
    • Receptive to feedback, willing to learn and embrace continuous improvement
    • Strive for high customer satisfaction, going out of the way to be helpful and pleasant
    • Knowledge of or ability to gain knowledge with cashiering system
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS :
    • Able to lift at minimum 35 lbs.
    • Able to stand on hard surfaces for an extended period of time
