Responsibilities:
Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Interacts and collaborates with internal and external customers to identify and address needs and lead the implementation of analyses, projects, and products.
  • Assists in the attainment of margin targets and inventory turns through report and data analysis.
  • Manages contract administration of product purchases.
  • Provides reporting for pharmacies and automated drug files to ensure the formulary is "clean" (e.g., currentNDC's are in use, inactive NDC's are minimized, reduce duplicate products on shelf).
  • Provides guidance and assists with file clean-up/design/direction for Purchasing Managers.
  • Leads and approves of all new vendor setups.
  • Manages brand purchases in advance of price increase events to minimize inventory impact of price increases and maximize margin.
  • Analyzes market and delivery conditions to determine present and future product availability and prepares market analysis reports.
  • Analyzes the vendor base to reduce costs and improve efficiencies, including recommending and sourcing alternative suppliers that meet delivery requirements and quality standards.
  • Reviews industry trends for purchasing and supply chain regulations.
  • Provides direction, conducts performance reviews, and manages performance of purchasing managers.
  • Negotiates with generic vendors to improve pricing, which includes buy-ins. Partners with wholesalers and generic distributors to ensure the consistent availability of lowest cost generic drugs.
  • Manages and oversees all aspects of Surecost purchasing system including PVA targets, generic compliance, reporting, rebate analysis, and inventory.
  • Manages and monitors inventory par levels for all shelf inventory and recalculates regularly.
  • Manages and oversees reverse distribution vendor for out-of-date product and returns.
  • Assists Finance leadership in margin research and maximization.
  • Provides oversight, participation, and management of all pharmacy physical inventories
  • Travel (10-15%) including overnight stay as necessary.
Qualifications:
  • Four (4) year degree in business, healthcare, or equivalent from an accredited college or university. Master's degree preferred.

Experience
  • Five (5) years progressive experience in healthcare purchasing (preferably in a Pharmacy or Long Term Care environment), to include three (3) years in a leadership or management role preferred (or an equivalent combination of education and experience).
  • Three (3) years of experience as a data analyst, clinical analyst, business analyst supply chain analyst, purchasing analyst, inventory analyst, procurement analyst, inventory planner, and/or contract management preferred.
  • Exemplary computer skills that include knowledge of the Microsoft Office Suite of products, database management.
  • Supply chain discipline, including sourcing, purchasing, inventory control, quality management, logistics, distribution and planning preferred.
