Job Summary

Reporting to the Dean of Student Living and Learning, the Director of Housing Operations provides oversite and leadership for all aspects of the housing services process including managing housing occupancy, overseeing the housing waiver process, and responding to student/parent housing concerns. The Director manages the housing application operation to include developing, implementing, and supervising all aspects of room selection and assignment. The Director assumes responsibility for accurate record keeping related to room capacity, room rates, occupancy reports, housing contract and the contract release process. The Director will develop, review, revise, and implement fair and equitable campus housing policies and procedures and will collaborate with colleagues to ensure the success of Clustered, Advocacy and Support for students' (CLASS) through the effective student-centered management of the housing operational functions.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Master's Degree in Higher Education Administration, Student Personnel Administration or closely related field and five (5) years of progressively responsible experience and leadership in residence life and housing, along with demonstrated experience in the development and management of housing including previous experience with StarRez or other college housing management systems.
  • Applicants must meet stated minimum education and experience requirements.

  • Knowledge of StarRez or similar housing management systems
  • Demonstrated understanding of contemporary student development and identity development theory and application
  • Planning, organizing and effective project management skills
  • Ability to analyze and interpret data
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Demonstrated commitment to diversity and inclusion
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure and meet established goals and objectives
  • Ability to anticipate and solve problems
  • Ability to work independently and take initiative on projects
  • Ability to deal with rapidly changing, as well as sometimes competing priorities

Preferred Knowledge, Skill, and Abilities

  • Working knowledge of File Maker Pro and HTML
