Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor Degree in a Behavioral Science (psychology, sociology) Criminal Justice, or related field, including five (5) or more years of supervisory experience managing probation officers, intake/investigations, and related probation division operations,; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Specific License or Certification Required: May require a valid Georgia driver's license.

Requires knowledge of Principles and practices of budget development and administration, legal case management related to juvenile justice, and customer service. Federal, state, and local criminal and juvenile laws and codes. Theories and principles of counseling related to the juvenile justice system. Laws, rules, and regulations governing juvenile court operations. Theories and principles of childhood and adolescent development/behavior. Theories and principles of sociology, psychology, and/or criminal justice. Community resources/programs associated with children/adolescents. Theories and principles of community and intergovernmental relations. General office practices, procedures, equipment, and technology.

Using spreadsheet, database, word processing, presentation, financial/accounting and other software to gather, organize, analyze, and present information. Purpose of Classification:
The purpose of this classification is to provide oversight and administration for all operations of the Juvenile Probation Division within the Fulton County Juvenile Court.
Essential Functions:
The following duties are normal for this position. The omission of specific statements of the duties does not exclude them from the classification if the work is similar, related, or a logical assignment for this classification. Other duties may be required.
Administers the daily operations of the Juvenile Probation Division within the Fulton County Juvenile Court.
Develops and maintains working partnerships and collaborative endeavors with stakeholders such as Atlanta Public Schools, Fulton County Schools, Georgia Department of Juvenile Justice, Georgia Department of Family and Children Services, law enforcement, and family advocacy and civic organizations.
Works to continually improve operational policies and procedures for the Juvenile Probation Division.
Directs case management within the assigned division and coordinates case assignments.
Consults with judges, attorneys, victims, parents, court staff, and other relevant parties.
Develops and coordinates employee training and professional development programs for the Juvenile Probation Division.
Prepares and manages assigned divisional budget.
Serves as a liaison to Juvenile Court administration and various governmental and community organizations.
Monitors and analyzes legislation and legal changes that may impact juvenile probation; recommends and implements corresponding changes in divisional operations.
Manages assigned staff, including establishing workloads, prioritizing work assignments, evaluating performance, interpreting and enforcing policies and procedures, resolving issues, making hiring decisions, and administering disciplinary action as required.
