Duties and Responsibilities
- A highly responsible leadership position ensuring a safe, therapeutic environment for Level I and Level II adjudicated male youth to address behavioral, educational, and family issues in a short-term structured setting with the goal of successful reunification with their family.
- Responsible for the implementation of evidence-based practices and curriculum in working with youth and their families.
- Through the supervision of staff, position will direct and ensure integration of all program components beginning with intake, orientation and assessment and concluding with successful completion, transition, and formalized linkages with formal and natural supports in the youth’s home community.
- Serve as member of program’s Leadership Team. Collaborate for overall success of operation, including but not limited to: program development and enhancement, safety and security of youth and staff, back-up support, fund development, staff development and training, etc
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university or college in the field of counseling, social work, behavioral science, psychology, public administration or in a related human services field.
- Four years of progressively responsible work with at-risk adolescents and families required.
- Minimum of three years of direct staff supervision required.
- Must be able to work long or irregular hours and must be capable of on-site response to all manner of emergencies arising at any hour of any day.

Eckerd Connects' Short-Term Juvenile Justice Residential program is a complete rehabilitative experience delivered in 4 to 6 months to adjudicated male youth, ages 13 to 17, referred by the North Carolina Department of Public Safety Division of Juvenile Justice. This residential treatment concept combines promising and evidence-based practices with a strong family transition component and signifies a public-private partnership with the Division of Juvenile Justice which has produced an innovative shift in the way youth are served in North Carolina's juvenile justice system. Intensive, short-term services include individualized treatment and academic plans that combine formal and experiential education, community service, behavioral health, and family counseling in a non-punitive environment designed to address the youth's behavioral challenges through a strength-based approach. Youth also receive accredited education on-site and work together in small group settings with assigned counselors.
