Statement of Purpose: To coordinate all service and personnel related to the dining room. Supervise and train all dining room employees. Maintain a positive work environment. Interact with residents during their meal to ensure SHSL service expectations are met.

Reports to: Director of Dining Services.

Compensation: This position is salaried exempt and eligible for performance incentive pay of 10% of annual salary.

Major Tasks, Duties and Responsibilities:

• Coordinates all personnel and service related to the dining room.
• Supervises and trains all dining room employees in customer service, correct serving techniques, sanitation and establishing rapport with residents and guests.
• Manages hiring, training and evaluation of all Front of House (FOH) dining personnel and utilizes performance management tools to ensure staff meets or exceeds expectations.
• Executes the catering functions for the residents, local community and departments in a timely manner.
• Promptly addresses all resident concerns regarding problems in the dining room and accommodates them accordingly.
• Demonstrates complete understanding of menu items and ingredients. Advises guests on appropriate combinations of food and drinks when requested; accommodates reasonable requests and notes preferences. As needed, demonstrates knowledge of specialized diets and allergens.
• Schedules FOH staff.
• Maintains FOH operating budget.
• Keeps Director of Food Services informed of all that goes onin dining room and kitchen.
• Exhibits exceptional communication skills and demonstrates ability to get along well with others. Remains flexible and patient when communicating with guests and staff.
• Maintains all appropriate records.
• Conducts daily pre-meal meetings with staff.
• Works with special events coordinator to promote and staff special functions and events.
• Complies with all state and county health codes for food handling.
• Use of POS system as needed.
