Brethren Village Retirement Community, in Lititz, PA, is hiring full-time and part-time Dining Aides for morning, daytime, and/or early evening hours.
A variety of work schedules are available to meet the needs of students, parents / caregivers, retired individuals, those with other employment, and those who need flexibility. No prior experience is required for most Dining Aide positions; we will provide paid training.
Dining Aide positions are great for those considering a career in a healthcare, hospitality, or culinary field, and who will enjoy interacting with an older adult population.
Dining Aides deliver and serve meals to our older adult Residents; assist and interact with Residents during mealtimes; and provide service in a friendly, helpful, and safe manner.
Dining Aides must be able to stand and walk frequently during their shift; carry trays; push carts; follow safe food handling protocols (following training).

Work Schedules:
- Full-time, benefits-eligible, 40 hours per week: 6:00 a.m. - 2:30 p.m., including every other Saturday, Sunday, and holiday.
- Part-time: morning, day, or early evening hours, including every other Saturday, Sunday, and holiday.
Core Requirements:
- a high school diploma or G.E.D., or currently-enrolled student at least age 16
- dependability: ability and willingness to meet attendance standards
- basic computer skills: the ability to access and navigate web sites, and use applications and databases independently
- the ability to read and to complete online training independently
- ability and willingness to consistently work in a safe and alert manner, and to report to work fit for duty; commitment to wearing protective equipment as required for the position, and adhering to all health and safety standards
- the ability and willingness to interact in a professional and friendly manner with colleagues
- the ability to provide exceptional service to others
- ability and willingness to represent Brethren Village and carry out responsibilities in a manner aligned with our core values of caring, integrity, stewardship, and excellence
Additional Requirements for This Position:
- must be at least age 16
- must be comfortable and able to engage with older adult Residents, including those with cognitive impairment
- must be willing and able to work in a safe and hygienic manner at all times, consistently following Brethren Village protocols and sound food-safety practices
- effective interpersonal and communication skills; must be comfortable initiating and maintaining mealtime conversations with Residents
- the ability to stand and walk frequently; carry trays; push carts
- a sincere interest in serving an older adult population, including Residents with dementia
- must be available to work every other Saturday, Sunday, and holiday
