Kongsberg Protech Systems USA in Mount Arlington, NJ is seeking to fill the position of a DevOps Engineer.

The DevOps Engineer will be organized under the US Research & Development team at Kongsberg Protech Systems USA (KPS USA). The main purpose is to strengthen KPS USA and US programs with a strong DevOps capability. Further to strengthen the capacity and capability for executing current and future programs regarding tools, testing, prototyping, development, finding root causes, faultfinding etc.

Essential functions of the job are:

• Support, implement, configure, upgrade and maintain various development-, testing-, automation tools, and IT infrastructure
• Have the technical skill to understand requirements, UML design, development-, building-, review-, verification-, and validation of software code development in the projects
• Together with developers, DevOps team in Norway and IT identify and build automated processes for the development process, wherever possible, collaboratively selecting and deploying appropriate CI/CD tools
• Setting up and configuring lab test systems, computes, server, operations systems, network and SW tools
• IT security mindset and continues work on securing the development platform
• Enabling monitoring and measuring of development intelligence with KPIs
• Developing scripts for synchronization of data between tools
• Develop test- and verification descriptions for tool integrations and script
• Participates in training and mentoring of new and less experienced Engineer
• Work in accordance with all applicable company standards

A Bachelor Degree in Engineering (Software, Computer Science, IT) or similar related field is required. Experience as DevOps engineer is preferred. Equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered.

Minimum 3 years experience as a DevOps Engineer. Experience with scripting (e.g. Python, Bash), version control tools like GIT, administration of operations systems like Linux / UNIX / VxWorks and Windows. Experience with Azure / Azure gov preferred, remote weapon systems, simulators, Hardware in the Loop (HIL), System-/ SW Test, System-/SW Modeling, System-/SW Design, System & Software Safety, System & Software Security, compilers or computer networking preferred.

Must be able to acquire a US passport. International and domestic travel will be required, as necessary. May be required to obtain government security clearance at the level required to perform specific functions of the role.
