Delivery Driver - Swanton/Milton Area Job at Bourne's Energy
This position exists to ensure the safety and comfort of our customers by providing topnotch delivery service for emergency and scheduled deliveries.
- Safely travel to/from customer locations to deliver fuel products, which will include some/all of bioheat, biodiesel, liquid propane (LP), wood pellets
- Properly interpret tickets, clarify questions prior to delivery
- Occasionally perform re-start of heating equipment and/or tank level measurement
- Timely completion of daily electronic transactions
- Excellent communication with internal and external customers– verbal, written, face-to-face
- Consistent on-time FT attendance
- Available for on-call rotation and overtime
- Familiar with service areas and able to follow directions
- Cleanliness and organization – delivery truck, customer and company property
- Follow safety practices and applicable laws/regulations
- Pre- and post-trip inspections
- Perform basic truck maintenance (grease, fluid levels, lights, etc.)
- Complete/submit vehicle maintenance and repair requests
- Follow company procedures (safety, collection, delivery, professionalism, etc.)
HOURS – FT 35-55 hours; extreme seasonal fluctuations
FLSA CLASSIFICATION – non-exempt
SKILLS – Comfort with technology (controls, tablets, iPhone, etc.), mechanical aptitude (mechanic experience preferred), numerical aptitude (tank measurements, percentages, temperature conversions, gallon conversions)

WORK ENVIRONMENT – prolonged exposure to weather conditions, noise, temperature, all types of customer locations (home, garage, business, basements, utility closets, etc.) inside and outside
PHYSICAL/MENTAL DEMANDS- walk, sit, use hands to finger, handle or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach w/hands and arms; balance; stoop; talk; hear; pull up to 150' 4 hose filled with product (75#) through deep snow, ice, slush, grass, etc., get into/out of truck 1-2 times per 20-60 deliveries daily, close-distance-color-peripheral vision, depth perception, ability to adjust focus, perform simultaneous tasks, able to hear fill whistle
LICENSING / CREDENTIALS - Insurable commercial driver's license class B or above, Hazmat endorsement, Tanker endorsement, minimum age 21 for insurability, CETP Certifications for LP delivery, AST (Above Ground Storage Tank) Inspection Certification, participation in random drug testing program
EDUCATION AND WORK EXPERIENCE – minimum field experience to be determined by position
PERFORMANCE STANDARDS – annual review, attainment of annual goals established between supervisor and incumbent
