About the Role:
As a delivery driver, you are directly responsible for delivering boxes to our customers in the San Jose, CA area (and additional areas in the South Bay near San Jose) in a professional and timely manner. You will be expected to deliver up to 100 boxes in a shift. You are also responsible for ensuring that the boxes are in pristine shape, delivered to the correct address, and during the correct time window. You will be the main liaison between Imperfect and the customer to ensure that all procedures are followed and that the highest quality of boxes is being delivered to customers. To support our mission of reducing waste to landfills, Imperfect Foods drivers will collect select Imperfect Foods packaging items from customers with each delivery. In 2021, our Delivery Team saved over 2 million pounds of plastic from landfills!
What you will be doing:
- Delivering Imperfect Foods grocery boxes to customers in your assigned area, paying special attention to customer instructions
- Picking up select packaging items from our customers as part of our recycling program
- Courteously driving from customer to customer in a Company-provided van
- You may be expected to deliver up to 150 boxes per shift and must pay close attention to delivery instructions
- Helping with loadout, transferring boxes into the delivery vans
- Keeping in constant communication with your dispatcher
- Following all traffic laws, being an alert, courteous, and defensive driver
- Maintaining cleanliness of the company van and reporting any damages or accidents immediately
- Please note, duties, responsibilities, and activities may change or be supplemented at any time at your Manager’s discretion.
Skills and Qualifications:
- Must have a valid driver's license
- Ability to read and understand delivery instructions.
- Working Smartphone with data plan for pictures (you will receive a cell phone allowance)
- Highly organized and strong attention to detail. Communicative - no question is too small to ask!
- You excel at independent, unsupervised work and are able to problem-solve and think on your feet
- Ability to lift/push/pull up to 60+ pounds
- Comfortable driving a full shift, working in all types of weather conditions until the job is done
- You’re passionate about our mission to eliminate food waste and create a better food system for all
Details of the Position:
- $22.50 per hour with overtime occasionally
- Must be available to work Mon-Friday 6:30 am start till last delivery
- Quarterly Bonus- up to $500
- Benefits include Medical, Dental, Vision and 401k with company match
- Paid vacation/sick time, Parental leave and 8 company holidays
- $1,300 per year in free groceries
