RT&T, a joint venture of InDyne, Inc. and Amentum Services, Inc. is the prime contractor to support the Atlantic Range Technical Support Services (ARTSS) for the Naval Air Warfare Center Aircraft Division (NAWCAD) headquartered in Patuxent River, MD, and with locations in Maryland, Virginia, and California.

ARTSS supports Atlantic Test Ranges (ATR) and Atlantic Targets and Marine Operations (ATMO) in research and development, engineering, maintenance, operation, support of facilities, systems, and equipment in order to meet the engineering development and operational testing and fleet training missions for some of the world’s premier systems. Our work with the U.S. Navy keeps the warfighter safe by testing systems before they are used in combat, and we are hiring personnel to support this important mission.

Background Information:

This full-time position serves as a member of the Global Positioning System (GPS) team within the Range Systems Branch at the Atlantic Test Range (ATR) in Patuxent River, Maryland. The GPS team supports local and remote test events within the continental United Sates with real-time tracking, surveillance, and post-mission data. GPS engineers and developers can provide custom hardware, software, and data formats. This position will provide software engineering support of multiple projects used by ATR.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Develops software modules using C, C++, or C# software applications
  • Participates with projects in the design and implementation of new capabilities
  • Tracks software bugs within current software
  • Responsible for documenting all work
  • Travel of up to 25% of the work time as team needs arise may be required

Required Education, Experience, Skills, & Certifications/Licenses:

  • BS degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, or Engineering from a school where the degree curriculum was accredited by the Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology (ABET)
  • Background in C/C++ Programming or similar Object-Oriented programming language(s) is necessary
  • Experience with C#, OpenGL, JAVA, XML is a plus, as is experience with Qt
  • Proven ability to work well with a team of engineers with specifications, designs, technologies, and operational implementations of software solutions
  • Ability to work within a large existing code base is necessary
  • Must be self-motivated, able to work independently, and ask questions as needed
  • Able to leverage the internet to find solutions to problems
  • General networking skills is a plus, as is familiarity with Windows development environments (i.e., Visual Studio, etc.) and Windows operating systems
  • General computer maintenance skills (i.e., hardware/software installations and troubleshooting) is required
  • Experience with NET framework is a plus
  • Possess a valid driver’s license and be able to successfully pass Drug Screenings

Clearance Requirement:

  • Ability to obtain and maintain a United States Department of Defense (DoD) Secret Security clearance throughout employment

Work Conditions:

  • Most work performed in enclosed buildings. Work will include sitting, standing, walking, lifting and reaching
  • Applicant should be capable of lifting 50-100 lbs. assisted by other employees
  • Vision abilities needed to perform this job include close vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust and to focus
