Position Summary:

The purpose of this position is to operate the EVAL production lines in a safe and competent manner. Included tasks include loading raw materials, operating machines, and packaging into finished product.


Responsibilities
:

  • Conduct routine inspections ensuring product packaging, product labeling, and product storage exceed standards
  • Adjust process variables as required to produce in specification finished goods
  • Perform material handling duties included to but not limited to: re-blending raw materials, loading materials into equipment, and packaging out product
  • Clean equipment between product transitions per checklist procedures preventing cross-contamination between campaigns
  • Perform QC analysis on in-line samples to document product quality, and ability to recognize variables to adjust if product does not meet specifications
  • Perform calibrations to equipment, ensuring finished product exceeds customer's expectations
  • Understand management of change requirements, assist in pre-safety start up review activities when required
  • Ability to perform mechanical activities (use of tools, break-down and re-assemble equipment)
  • Assist mechanical with repairs as required
  • Conduct daily rounds increasing mechanical reliability
  • Maintain a high standard of housekeeping in process areas
  • Understand and comply with regulatory, company, and departmental Health, Safety, Environmental, and Security guidelines, policies and procedures.
  • Attend and participate in scheduled safety training, operational training, and employee meetings.
  • Ability to understand and utilize procedures (SOP's and checklist procedures)
  • Ability to leverage proper PPE when performing routine and non-routine tasks
  • Document paperwork thoroughly and accurately
  • Rotating shift work must be able to work a day and night 12 hour rotating shift including weekends and holidays (DuPont schedule)


Minimum Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or GED required
  • 2 years' experience in chemical/plastic industry as an operator or technician. Process tech degree in lieu of experience
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills; and the ability to follow written and verbal instructions
  • Experience in equipment and/or process troubleshooting
  • Knowledge of the hazards and safety precautions in process operations
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with team
  • Ability to routinely push, pull or lift at least 55 pounds while performing normal unit operations
  • Ability to climb stairs and work at heights in excess of 30 feet
  • Ability to climb vertical ladders
