Kinetic Personnel Group is currently recruiting for a Communications Writer - Certified Bilingual Chinese or Vietnamese for a Public Health Plan (government entity). This 5 billion-dollar a year government entity is renowned for its work in the community and being a great place to work

The Communications Writer - Certified Bilingual, is responsible for providing internal and external communication services that target Health Plan Members, Providers, community partners, healthcare agencies, and the specified language speaking public. The Communications Writer - Certified Bilingual will provide strategic support for Health Plan communications and public relations initiatives and is also responsible for project management from the first stage of creative development to project completion. To develop all materials requested, the Communications Writer - Certified Bilingual will work with all applicable departments to develop the strategic/ creative direction and work with Graphic Designers, English Communication Writers, external translation vendors, and Communications Coordinators to make sure all projects are created and delivered on time.

This position is hybrid, two days work-from-home, three days in the office.

Job duties:

  • Translate communication pieces into specified language, or from specified language to English, including Member letters, regulatory material, scripts, brochures, website content and more.
  • Assign projects to external translation vendors, review, edit and conduct quality assurance on all vendor work.
  • Lead development of specified language glossary and style guide to ensure consistency.
  • Deliver a high quality 100% accurate translation from source language to target language.
  • Update projects in online project management tool and ensure all deadlines and deliverables are met.
  • Respond to program changes driven by regulatory requirements. Coordinate the review, modification, and reproduction of any Health Plan material impacted by such changes. Regularly update, modify, and reproduce any printed and online materials that require changes as a result of program changes and/or the regulatory agencies’ review.
  • Ensure Health Plan material complies with the reading level required by the regulatory agencies. Run a health literacy assessment (HLA) on all member materials to obtain a 6th grade reading level and keep a record of the assessment.
  • Ensure all member materials receive regulatory approval before final production and dissemination.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in related field from an accredited institution required.
  • Master’s degree from an accredited institution preferred.
  • Three (3) years of experience in writing and understanding both written specified language and English in prior positions.
  • Certified specific language translator or equivalent in Chinese or Vietnamese.
  • Sensitive to cultural nuances, ability to write for a 6th grade reading level.

Job Types: Full-time, Temporary

Pay: $30.00 - $35.00 per hour
