COVID policies:

The Opportunity:
Join a dynamic, highly communicative, and collaborative team committed to building the relational capacity of school systems. The Communications Coordinator works under the direction and supervision of the Special Projects Manager to oversee the operational success of SEEDS’ communications and outreach plan. The Communications Coordinator will be responsible for ensuring successful creation, execution and evaluation of communications strategies and establishing SEEDS as a key community player in a larger community. This is a remote role, with occasional in-person event support and staff meeting/retreat requirements.
Reporting Structure: Part of operations team. Reports to Special Projects Manager.
In this position, you will:
Manage SEEDS communication channels
- Monitor SEEDS’ social media and online presence
- Maintain and update SEEDS website regularly
- Maintain an engaging presence on Facebook, Instagram, and other social media outlets
- Advertise events and announcements on website and social media outlets
- Update and maintain program, event, fundraising, and service announcements through the various media channels
- Support Alumni Network member engagement, and communications utilizing Salesforce, and the membership portal via Salesforce Experience Cloud
Create and manage content promoting the organization
- Social media marketing expertise (Facebook/Meta, Instagram, LinkedIn, TikTok, Twitter, etc.)
- Email marketing expertise (open and click through rates, (un)/subscribe rates, data analysis, strategic planning to maintain and grow existing email listservs).
- Build and support collaborative systems to crowd source content.
- Write content and create visuals for both print and web including the company website, social media, brochures, and organizational newsletters.
- Support the consistency of organizational design guidelines by editing and reviewing externally facing content.
- Make sure that all promotional and marketing materials meet the company’s brand identity strategy.
- Engage with existing audience and increase following across all social media platforms.
- Collaborate with staff to create online content including videos.
Develop, improve, and execute organizational communications plan
- Contribute to and implement organizational communications strategy.
- Seek out new outreach, fundraising and event opportunities that promote SEEDS’ image and brand
- Organize and direct promotional events.
- Implement Alumni Network communications
- Recognize and engage with multiple perspectives
- Identify and resolve any issues with promotional content in a timely and effective manner.
- Improve and maintain systems for communications effectiveness, efficiency, and tracking
- Assess and report on the effectiveness of communication strategies.
- Regularly attend Communications Team meetings, periodically facilitate/lead meetings, regularly contribute to agenda items, identify and move forward individual and collective action items
- Additional duties and projects as assigned
Minimum Requirements:
- Located in San Francisco Bay Area
- Ability and willingness to attend staff meetings and retreats in person at our Berkeley office
- Ability and willingness to travel within the Bay Area to offer in-person support for events and to capture images
- Knowledge of and experience with social media platforms (Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, LinkedIn, etc.)
- Experience developing promotional materials for online platforms and for print
- Experience working and communicating with stakeholders representing broad diversity in terms of gender, sexual orientation, race, ethnicity, religion, etc.
- Access to a quiet, private space with a working internet connection
- Ability and willingness to utilize organizational technological systems (MacOS, Salesforce, Google Classroom, Box, Microsoft Office, etc.) and to implement new systems (online teaching platforms, other systems as needed)

Compensation
This is a quarter-time staff position. 10 hours/week at $35/hour, equivalent to $18,200/year. This role receives 20 hours of paid vacation time and 6 days of sick time per year. No other benefits are offered for this position.
