COMM SPECIALIST Job at Greater Philadelphia Health Action
The Communication Specialist schedules external/internal referrals ordered by the clinician; completes all necessary forms required for scheduling the referral; provides preparatory instruction when applicable; processes referral requests; maintains updated Preferred Provider Listing; processes Radiology Pre-certification according to protocol; documents referral outcomes appropriately in Orders Management template; performs document scanning, as authorized; effectively communicates with Providers regarding referrals processing and tracking; performs referral tracking - Including urgent, routine and monthly reconciliation; and other duties as may be requested by Supervisor.
Must have High School Diploma or High School equivalency diploma required. Medical Office Management Certificate/Technical medical training in healthcare setting is desirable. Computer savvy with comprehensive knowledge of insurance policies, practices, medical terminology and anatomy is necessary. Must possess proper telephone etiquette, excellent interpersonal skills, coupled with the ability to deal with people sympathetically and work harmoniously to obtain necessary information and facilitate requests. CPR certification required.
