We have an opening for a Commercial Truck Collision Repair Estimator at our Body Shop in Frederick, MD. Work alongside the service team at the most modern truck paint and body shop in the Baltimore-Washington D.C. area! Our Body Shop houses a 60 ft. state-of-the-art AFC spray booth featuring the most current technology available: it is capable of painting two trucks at the same time in two different colors while all of the exhaust is filtered to meet EPA standards. We provide light and heavy-duty repairs for Class 2-8 trucks, school buses, vans, and utility bodies. We also refurbish and modify vehicles including corporate re-identification.
The Repair Estimator takes the lead in providing customers with a prompt cost estimate for parts and labor needed to repair/restore body collision-related damage and ensuring quality repairs are provided in a timely manner while keeping customers informed throughout the process. This position requires a proven track record of high performance, an advanced level of technical knowledge regarding collision repair estimates, and be familiar with major insurance carrier procedures and requirements.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Inspect body collision-related damage, traveling off-site and taking photos as required
  • Write cost estimate of parts and labor costs needed to repair/restore body collision-related damage to pre-loss condition and review estimate with customer
  • Understand and ensure compliance with all International, vendor, and insurance company policies and warranty procedures
  • Communicate with the insurance company regarding the claim and keep customer informed
  • Oversee parts ordering
  • Follow the job through the entire repair process, keeping the customer updated, and quality control the vehicle for final delivery
  • Review open repair orders over 30 days to ensure closure and payment
  • Seek out and secure new service business and maintain a customer database (CRM) of current customers and prospects

IDEAL WORK QUALITIES

  • Must be customer-sensitive and able to listen, understand, and communicate professionally with all customers, both external and internal
  • Must be self-motivated and have good written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to read and understand instructions, written estimates, and work orders

Requirements

  • Three years of estimation experience in collision/repair
  • Possess a valid driver’s license – CDL preferred
  • Experience with Microsoft programs and applications
  • Knowledge of Procede DMS or comparable system preferred
  • Working knowledge of International trucks helpful
