Job Description

This position is a Mechanical Engineer who is a CAD/CAM programmer for development of programs or drawings used in profiling propellers, propulsor parts and other NFPC products. NFPC is a low volume, large size, sand-cast foundry that primarily pours non-ferrous alloys from induction furnaces. NFPC completes all machining operations in house and ships completed products to our internal Navy customers. See more about NFPC at our website:

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Develops or coordinates development of geometry data for complex NFPC products, potentially including propellers and propulsors.
  • Coordinates with other technicians and engineers to ensure all technical issues are addressed.
  • Evaluate designs objectives, performs complex technical evaluations, identifies most economical and efficient procedures.
  • Prepares scheduling estimates for completion of program files or CAD/CAM drawings.
  • Assists in training and providing technical guidance to lower grade technicians and engineers.
  • Shall assist in developing and implementing engineering process controls/techniques for continuous improvement of machining and assembly operations.
  • Shall perform other tasks as required.

Qualifications Required for the Position

  • Knowledge of Intergraph and AutoDesk.
  • Expert knowledge of Siemens 840D controllers, NX programming and Vericut.

Security Clearance / Background Check required. Your candidacy is subject to approval and acceptance.
