Salary Range: $60,000 - $65,000
- An additional $5,000 per year is available to those with an LiCSW or who obtain an LiCSW while employed. A hiring bonus of $5,000 is available to external candidates with $2,500 paid upon hire and $2,500 paid upon completing 6 months of employment with St. Francis House.
Job Summary:
The Clinician’s role is to provide low-barrier, “on-demand” and ongoing individual and group substance use disorder treatment for SFH guests. The Clinician will be a key part of adding an intensive outpatient treatment plan into SFH’s menu of treatment services. This Clinician will work collaboratively with an integrated team of providers at SFH to stabilize our guests in the areas of housing, income, and behavioral health.
Essential Duties:
- Provide clinical case management services to individuals in day shelter setting who are unable to manage traditional supports.
- Intervene and support clinical crisis situations throughout the building.
- Collaborate closely with guest facing staff to facilitate warm handoffs and monitoring of high-risk guests, with a specific focus on guests actively using substances.
- Triage, engage, assess, and link guests seeking referrals for substance use referrals, utilizing the support of Behavioral Health Team.
- Provide services to guests that empower each individual and promote pathways to self-determination and stability, using an integrated “Universal Design” model of care that is Person-Centered, Recovery Focused and Trauma Informed.
- Develop and maintain points of communication with DMH for referrals and collaboration around guests.
- Collaborates proactively with colleagues within the department as well as across SFH departments.
- Work closely with Harm Reduction team, Guest Engagement, and Boston Healthcare for the Homeless Program.
- Adheres to agency code of conduct.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
- This is an Essential Personnel Position
- Masters-level clinician, LICSW track preferred. LMHC will also be considered.
- Experience providing SUD treatment utilizing evidenced based treatment models, including group curriculum.
- Experience providing treatment to people who have lived in extreme poverty and have co-occurring disorders. Experience with highly vulnerable, high-barrier individuals and awareness of issues common to those who are experiencing homelessness.
- Bilingual (Spanish) preferred.
- Lived experience with homelessness and or recovery a plus.
- Occasionally move about inside the office, multi floor – level building, other SFH locations and/or community locations.
- Constantly operates a computer and other office productivity machinery, such as a calculator, copy machine, and computer.
- Occasionally lifting and moving up to 10 pounds independently
