We are looking for a highly motivated chemist, biochemist and/or chemical engineer to join in our newly commissioned state-of-art therapeutic oligonucleotide GMP manufacturing facility in Petaluma, CA. This individual will work in a Process Development lab to help develop, transfer and trouble-shoot processes for smooth transfer to GMP and non-GMP manufacturing. In addition, the successful candidate will collaborate closely with analytical and production chemists to solve manufacturing issues.
Responsibilities:
- Optimize and scale up/down solid-phase oligonucleotide synthesis, purification, concentration, conjugation, and downstream processing methods in preparation for handover to routine manufacturing
- Provide technical and early-stage manufacturing support in the development of therapeutic GMP manufacturing process and capability, including developing and drafting of manufacturing procedures
- Provide technical support in root cause failure analysis for production and quality incidents
- Keep good records of production activities, experimental procedures and analytical data
- Maintain the chemistry laboratory space in compliance with safety regulations
- Provide technical customer support and routine progress updates to clients in conjunction with project manager assigned to each specific project
Qualifications:
- Bachelors Required though Masters preferred in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering or related discipline
- Must have at minimum 1 year of practical experience working in an organic or bioprocess laboratory Experience working with TFF, preparative HPLC, UV and pH equipment is desired
- Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel (Macro)
- Experience with chromatography and/or oligo synthesis system software is preferred
- Proficiency in use of a web browser

The typical pay range for this role is:
Minimum: $ 93,750 /Yearly
Maximum: $ 156,250 /Yearly
This range represents the low and high end of the anticipated salary range for the California -based position. The actual base salary will depend on several factors such as: experience, skills, and location.
