The Ohio State University College of Dentistry seeks a full-time faculty member with specialty training in Oral and Maxillofacial Radiology as an associate professor or professor to serve as a chair of its Division of Oral and Maxillofacial Radiology. Candidates must demonstrate a record of scholarly work, service and teaching excellence.
The Ohio State University College of Dentistry is the fourth largest public dental school in the United States and it is the only public dental school in Ohio. The college is divided into ten divisions with all major ADA-recognized dental specialties represented. The College has approximately 600 students in its undergraduate and graduate programs.
The chair of the college’s Oral and Maxillofacial Radiology Division provides leadership and management for the staff, faculty, clinic operations, and curriculum. Providing didactic and clinical instruction in oral and maxillofacial radiology to students in the dental hygiene and pre- and post-doctoral dental programs are core responsibilities of this position. Other responsibilities include participation in and strategic expansion of current CBCT imaging and diagnostic services provided by the college’s affiliated intramural the Dental Faculty Practice. Candidates will be expected to engage in research within the college and across other health science units at the university. Preference will be given to candidates with evidence of high-quality scholarly work, including presentations at professional meetings and publications of basic or clinical research.
The College is completing a $95 million expansion to its existing facility. As a central component of the new facility is a fully-equipped oral and maxillofacial radiology clinic designed to serve as the primary training site for an advanced education program in oral and maxillofacial radiology.

This position requires successful completion of a criminal background check and drug and alcohol screening.
Required: Qualified candidates must possess a DDS/DMD degree or international equivalent and be eligible for a regular or limited teaching license in the State of Ohio. Candidates must also have completed advanced training in a CODA-accredited oral and maxillofacial radiology program and be certified by the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Radiology. Candidates eligible for joint appointment within the Department of Radiology in Ohio State’s College of Medicine (http://radiology.osu.edu) will be considered favorably.

Clinical faculty (regardless of rank) - faculty positions within the university that are not tenure track and not eligible for tenure; on a fixed term contract. Persons with the title of professor-clinical, associate professor-clinical, assistant professor-clinical and instructor-clinical. Duties and responsibilities are assigned in accordance with the workload guidelines laid out in the pattern of administration of each faculty department and, as appropriate, regional campus; Clinical faculty are teacher/practitioners and will be engaged primarily in teaching activities. These faculty normally have earned doctorate or other terminal degree in the relevant field or equivalent experience.
