Semmes Murphey Clinic is committed to implementing a team-based approach to provide excellence in patient care. The Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) will work with other members of Semmes Murphey Clinic to provide patient services and is expected to participate in the appropriate team activities with the objective of providing a high standard of patient and clinical service. The CNA will help ensure smooth patient flow in the surgery center by transporting patients within the facility and to their vehicles, preparing rooms for each new patient, and assisting nurses to make sure the patient’s needs are met. In addition, the CNA may cover the surgery center front desk in the receptionist’s absence.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Completion of a Nursing Assistant program
• BLS certification

PREFERRED

• One (1) year experience as a nursing assistant
• Experience with basic administration work

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

The employee may be required to sit and stand for long periods of time and have the capability for occasional overhead and low reaching. This position requires frequent walking and the ability to transport patients via wheelchair. Physical strength for equipment needs and patient care activities require the employee to be able to lift and/or move at least 50 pounds. Visual and auditory acuity for timely response and patient care assessment activities is required with the ability to move quickly in response to patient needs.
