This position will be in support of the Defense POW/MIA Accounting Agency, Partnerships and Innovations Directorate (DPAA PI). The DPAA is the US Department of Defense Agency responsible for the recovery and identification of fallen US service members from WWII to the gulf war. Its mission is to provide the fullest possible accounting of missing personnel to their families and the nation. To accomplish this, the DPAA sends out organic and partner investigation and recovery missions worldwide, and recovered material is analyzed in the state-of-the-art DPAA laboratory. DPAA expands its recovery and identification capacity and capabilities through various innovation initiatives, and partners with research and academic institutes to address research requirements.

Responsibilities:

HJF is seeking a Case Coordinator to provide assistance with record management, copy editing, and coordination of partner field deliverables. This position regularly interfaces with employees, consultants, partners, and contractors.


Responsibilities

  • Assist the DPAA Partnerships and Innovations (PI) Directorate by reviewing and providing suggested revisions for partner Field Reporting Deliverables.
  • Responsible for informing all internal and external stakeholders on case file status by updating appropriate Directorate and Agency tracking systems and databases.
  • Act as the Point of Contact (POC) for all partner Field deliverables issues and will notify the appropriate DPAA(PI) and/or partner personnel of any delays or issues associated with these activities based on analysis of project execution.
  • Assist the Senior Case Coordinator with developing and refining procedural documents to inform the execution of partner reporting deliverable generation, review, approval, and retention.
  • Assist, as necessary, with case file and records management matters.
  • May perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned or directed by the supervisor. This may include attendance of and participation in required training for role.

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Must be detail-oriented, process-driven, and self-motivated.
  • Must have superlative time management skills
  • Copy-editing skills and experience are required.
  • Archaeological field work and report writing experience are beneficial.


Physical Capabilities

  • Lifting: Requires lifting materials up to 10 lbs.
  • Ability to stand or sit at a computer for prolonged periods..
Qualifications:

Education and Experience

  • Master’s Degree in Archaeology, Anthropology, History, English, Writing, or another related field
  • Minimum of 4 to 6 years of related experience required.
