The College of Pharmacy is seeking a Recruiter. This is a full-time 1.00 FTE , 12-month, professional faculty position.

This position will be responsible for planning, implementing, and evaluating strategies to increase enrollment for the College of Pharmacy. The incumbent will serve as the main recruiter for the College of Pharmacy’s Doctor of Pharmacy program. This position will also coordinate the Early Assurance Program (EAP) and be the college’s lead liaison for all Pre-Pharmacy Societies.
This position may be based from the main OSU campus in Corvallis, Oregon or from the College of Pharmacy’s Portland, Oregon location on the OHSU campus.

Position Duties
90% – Recruitment Management:
  • Works to increase the number and diversity of students enrolled in the college.
  • Organizes, attends, and hosts events locally and nationally as needed to support recruitment and matriculation goals.
  • Builds and maintains relationships on behalf of the college with high school and college personnel, prospective students and their families, cultural, and ethnic communities, non-profit and community organizations and other influencers.
  • Coordinates the Early Assurance Program (EAP) for undergraduate students and high school seniors. Recruit, admit, and retain all students in the EAP. Provide guidance to EAP students on pre-requisite requirements and the PharmCAS application. Monitor EAP student compliance with EAP agreement, curricular requirements, and provide intervention when needed. Oversee the development of EAP programming.
  • Regularly participate in and attends or coordinates College participation in on campus events and activities that pertain to diverse student populations and/or minority student college access, retention, and outreach populations. Develop relationships with key partners that advise and counsel these student groups.
  • Strategically and collaboratively develops, implements, and maintains annual and long-term College of Pharmacy national recruitment, communication, and marketing strategy; and plans for target audiences including high school students, undergraduate students, pre-pharmacy societies and key stakeholders such as, parents, high school counselors, and academic advisors in collaboration with the Admissions & Recruitment Coordinator.
  • Evaluates the effectiveness of outreach and recruitment activities in partnership with the Admissions & Recruitment Coordinator and the Director of Assessment. Recommend changes based on results of assessments.
  • Acts as a main point of contact from the college for recruitment matters.
  • Travels to recruitment events.


10% – College Support:
  • Serves on college, university, and external committees as deemed appropriate.
  • Provides additional support as defined by the Admissions & Recruitment Coordinator, Associate Dean of Student Success, or Dean.
  • Oversees social media marketing directed at prospective student communications.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
Minimum/Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree from a regionally accredited four-year not-for-profit college or university and a minimum of one year of experience in student services or student recruitment at a not-for-profit, high school, college, or university.
  • A demonstrable commitment to promoting and enhancing diversity.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate with and develop programming for high-ability students, high school students, community college students, including those from low-income, first-generation, and racially/ethnically diverse backgrounds.
  • Effective interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills, including presentation skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a highly collaborative, team-oriented environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously under tight deadlines.
  • Demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality, discretion, and professionalism.
  • Excellent computer skills including proficiency with Microsoft Office products (Word, Outlook, Excel) and other relevant tools.

Incumbents are required to self-report convictions and those in youth programs may have additional criminal history checks every 24 months.
This position requires driving a university vehicle or a personal vehicle on behalf of the university; therefore, the incumbent must successfully complete a motor vehicle history check, possess and maintain a current, valid driver’s license in their state of residence, be determined to be position qualified and self-report convictions as per University Policy 05-030.
Preferred (Special) Qualifications
  • Master’s degree in higher education and student affairs, marketing, communication, or other field from which relevant knowledge can be gained.
  • Experience providing guidance for student success in post-secondary education.
  • Basic understanding/experience with updating websites.
  • Experience developing marketing materials.
  • Experience organizing and developing large programs and large events.
  • Experience using Adobe Creative Suite programs such as Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign, and/or Flash.
  • Familiarity with Slate, Banner, Data Warehouse, Drupal, Microsoft Office Suite and DegreeWorks.
  • Familiarity with assessment and quality improvement strategies.
Working Conditions / Work Schedule
This position requires occasional evening and weekend work.
The ability to drive is required in order to assist with recruiting and admissions on both campuses (OSU-Corvallis & OHSU-Portland) and off-site locations.

  • The anticipated starting salary will be $45,000 – $62,000.
