Bean Teamers are cross-trained in both front of house and back of house operations and perform a variety of café duties and responsibilities. The Guest Services Position is a specialized position but also one that provides support to other team members. This allows for growth and opportunity within the Bean Sprouts culture.

The Guest Services position is one with many roles. Guest Services includes and is not limited to; Cashier, Expo, Barista, Porter, and so on. The reason for so many hats is that we want to ensure that anyone working in the Guest Services position is fully cross-trained and capable to help in whatever role is necessary.

Qualifications:

• Must be an energetic self-starter with an enthusiastic and positive demeanor.
• Possess basic math skills and have the ability to handle money and operate point-of-sale system.
• Must be able to communicate clearly in a proactive and positive manner. Must have California Food Handlers Permit
• Be able to reach, bend, and lift up to 25 pounds.
• Be able to work in a standing position for long periods of time.
• A High School degree is preferred.
• Compensation is competitive based on experience.

Duties & Responsibilities:

• Welcome and greet customers, both adults and kids. Make all guests feel wonderful and let them know you're there to personally take care of them.
• Answer questions about our food, beverages and other restaurant functions and services, use Bean Sprouts specific phrases and wording.
• Receive food and beverage orders from guests, enter orders in our point-of-sale system and handle payment transactions.
• Proper handling of cash, including completion of Cash Drawer Form, and accurately report cash-related items
• Ensure proper capture of sales each day by properly closing all checks and let Bean Leader know if there are any discrepancies
• Anticipate and attend to the guests' needs and desires immediately to include special events like birthdays, anniversaries, and special occasions.
• Prepare and dispense coffee, tea and smoothie beverages. Deliver food and beverages from the kitchen to customers in a timely matter as outlined in our operational guidelines.
• Maintain a high degree of knowledge with regard to food and beverages especially in regards to food allergies and cross contamination.
• Be ready and willing to assist fellow Bean Teamers as situations arise.
• Be available to fill in as needed to ensure the smooth and efficient operation of the café.
• Have a full knowledge of and practice all of the health and safety guidelines.
• Clear plates, wipe and sanitize the customer tables.
• Clean and sanitize all areas of the café as outlined in the cleaning roster or by the Bean Leader.
• Maintain a safe working area.
• Ensure that all areas are stocked in accordance with established par levels.
• Minimize waste.
• Ensure the protection and maintenance of all operating equipment.
• Complete all assigned opening and closing duties.
• Carry out any other related duties as directed by the Bean Leader.
• Handle, store and rotate all products properly.
• Attend all scheduled meetings and training sessions and bring suggestions for improvement.
