Bridgeway Academy is seeking a full-time Bookkeeper who will provide financial information to management by performing data entry, research and analysis of accounting information that consists of preparation of reports ensuring accounting principles are used to record the organizations financial information that also includes receivables and payables.

Essential Duties for this role include:

Accounts Receivable (A/R): Will document financial transactions by entering account information and preparing weekly and monthly invoices for distribution. Will perform follow-up on past due receivables.

Accounts Payable (A/P): Will verify payment of invoices associated with A/P and ensure payments are charged to the appropriate accounts and entered into the payable ledger. Will prepare checks for printing.

Reporting: They will understand the use of Profit and Loss Statement, Balance Sheet and other financial documents in order to prepare reports as requested. They will provide financial information to management by performing research and analyzing account data and reconciling financial discrepancies by collecting and analyzing account information as needed.

Compliance: They will assist the Director of Business Operations during the organization’s annual fiscal audit by providing outside auditors with assistance in gathering necessary account information and documents for review. They will comply with federal, state and local financial legal requirements by studying existing and new legislation, enforcing adherence to requirements and advising management on needed actions when required and maintaining financial security by following internal controls. They will maintain client confidence and protect operations by keeping financial information confidential while keeping HIPPA compliance. They will understand billing rules of third party payers and will develop and maintain relationships with payers.

Communication: They will have daily interactions, including written and oral contact with senior leadership, Board of Directors, direct reports, staff, parents, volunteers, community partners, vendors and others for the purpose of exchanging information and ideas aimed at providing assistance in fundraising.

Qualifications/Abilities:

A Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance or other related discipline required and 1-2 years of successful experience working as a Bookkeeper or in an equivalent level position. They will have an understanding of and the ability to adhere to generally accepted accounting principles to include having effective communication and exceptional verbal, nonverbal, written and listening skills.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $48,000.00 - $53,000.00 per year
