Purpose:

The Benefits Administrator will be responsible for managing the entire benefits administration process for Hilco Transport and CTO. This person will be the main point of contact for all employee benefits/rewards programs, providing top-level customer service to staff and partners while also bringing forward ideas to enhance the organization’s benefit offerings.

Roles/Responsibilities:

· Assists with administration of employee benefits programs, including medical, dental, life, disability, vision, flexible spending accounts, COBRA, and 401k.

· Provides customer service to our team members and their families with questions pertaining to health, dental/vison, and other voluntary benefits.

· Ensure compliance of benefits programs, utilizing knowledge of benefits legislation (COBRA, FMLA, HIPAA, PPACA, ADA, other) by staying up to date on rules and regulations impacting benefits programs.

· Coordinate and implement daily benefits processing and resolution, including, but not limited to enrollments, terminations, premium payments/make-ups, COBRA, FMLA or other non-FMLA leaves, Disability.

· ACA Administration to include running monthly ACA reports to identify new hires, temporary/seasonal employees and variable hour employees working over 30 hours.

· Assist with designating company charges for various benefit invoices for all plans administered.

· Responsible for preparing and interpreting data as part of a monthly reporting package to include insights on cost to employee/employer for claims management, benefit utilization, etc.

· Partner with insurance broker & carriers to understand current benefit plans, coordinate updating of benefit guides & plan documents, as well as creating enhancements to benefit programs.

· Manages the preparation and execution of the annual open enrollment process to include employee education, communications/materials administration, EOI tracking, changes in coverage and assisting with payroll deduction updates via manual entry or file upload.

· Auditing file feed between benefits administration system and broker/carriers to ensure proper information/updates are being communicated.

· Maintains new hire benefit package distribution and enrollment tracking; communicates necessary changes to payroll for deduction input.

· Maintain and administer qualifying life event changes.

· Ensures consistent administration and interpretation of benefit plans including medical, dental, vision, life insurance, accidental death & dismemberment, short- & long-term disability, flexible spending accounts, employee assistance program, etc.

· Demonstrates professionalism and provides a caring and efficient response to associates regarding benefit issues.

· Oversee employee birthday and service award recognition programs.

· Oversee and manage company store.

· Manage benefits inquiry phone line & provide correspondence on all benefit related inquiries/matters.

· Perform all above-mentioned tasks for Hilco Transport & Carolina Transport of Oak Ridge entities.

Qualifications/Experience:

· Must have 2-3 years minimum applicable experience within benefits administration.

· Bachelor’s degree preferred.

· Familiarity working with Microsoft Office applications, moderate to advanced proficiency with MS Excel.

· Must have strong oral and written communication skills; good people skills.

· Ability to provide high level of customer service to internal clients.

· Capable of multi-tasking and working within a team environment; must have strong working relationship with Payroll and HR teams.

· Ability to create clear and concise written communications to organization.

· Must have a team orientated attitude & openness to help out wherever needed.

· Strong leadership ability.

· Strong attention to detail.

· Prior knowledge of payroll processes a plus.

· Experience with HRIS and/r benefits administration platforms ideal.

· Ability to operate efficiently.

· Ability to multi-task, maintain organization and keep up with fast-pace environment.

· DOT Compliance, Safety, and/or transportation experience a plus.

· Must have strong ability to think critically and solve problems.
