Duties and Responsibilities:

  • As a Bank Teller, you will assist members in the selection and opening of accounts to meet their financial needs; including savings, checking, money markets, certificates of deposits, IRAs, etc.
  • Inform and educate the credit union products and services to existing and potential members in-person as well as by phone and written correspondence.
  • Ensure that each member receives outstanding service by providing accurate information, building rapport, and processing all transactions as efficiently and accurately as possible.
  • Handles all monetary transactions for members (i.e., deposits, withdrawals, loan payments, check cashing) and other normal inquiries including examining checks for endorsements.
  • Orders daily supply of cash, balances currency, coin, and checks in cash drawer at end of shift and compares totaled amounts with the end of day balancing report.
  • Answer questions or resolve complex problems on member accounts.
  • Maintain a high level of product knowledge and demonstrate that knowledge by proactively meeting member’s needs through the use of personal selling techniques.
  • Handle telephone inquiries, responding to routine questions and directing calls to appropriate departments.
  • Assist other employees/departments to promote teamwork and good communication.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Previous Teller experience is preferred.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Basic mathematical skills.
  • Demonstrated accuracy and attention to detail in previous work history.
  • Basic computer literacy with knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook).
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Excellent organization and time management skills
  • Work under pressure and perform several tasks simultaneously, multi-tasking.
  • Proven ability to resolve problems and effectively deal with challenging member situations.

Physical Demands:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 20 pounds. The employee will frequently use and talk on the telephone and use a computer and other office equipment.

Additional Information:

Full-time 40 hours per week.

Hours can be scheduled anytime Monday-Friday between 7:30 A.M. to 6:00 P.M. with a rotating Saturday schedule from 8:30 A.M. to 12:30 P.M.

Hourly Salary Range: $ 16.50 - $19.50

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $16.50 - $19.50 per hour
