JOB DESCRIPTION
The Fellow will support program operations that may include recruiting, placement and reporting for volunteers. The Fellow will support outreach and partnership efforts within the Division of Aging. The Aging Fellow will be embedded in the Baltimore City Health Department Division of Aging. The Fellow will report to the Director of Client Services.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
STRATEGY AND OUTREACH (40%)
- Recruit new volunteers to provide telephonic and/or in-home companion services for older adults
- Recruit new program participants, primarily senior building residents, in need of support from Senior Companion volunteers
- Build relationships with resident managers
- Develop in-service tools and trainings
- Engage Volunteer Advisory Board
PROJECT MANAGEMENT (40%)
- Payroll - Report biweekly volunteer hours for stipends
- Data Management - maintain a database to track volunteers and program participants
DATA TRACKING AND REPORTING (20%)
- Managing data and collecting timesheets.
- Assists Director in preparing reports for funding agencies and the Department.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Excellent interpersonal skills to interact with diverse stakeholders
- Excellent writing skills with the ability to clearly and concisely communicate detailed information
- Strong organizational skills and detail orientation
- Strong problem solver with ability to understand and make use of / adapt to new information quickly
- Listens to the concerns of others and builds trust easily
- Collaborates well with partners from different disciplines and builds consensus
- Have reliable form of transportation to travel to all parts of Baltimore
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Basic understanding of vulnerable populations
- Experience with data tracking and data management
- Travel reimbursement at the standard federal reimbursement rate
WORK ENVIRONMENT & SAFETY PROTOCOL
- Work follows the CDC best practices for the safety of staff
- This role will typically be in the office 2 days a week and 3 days remote (but can vary)
REPORTS TO: Director of Client Services

- Salary: $50,000
