Position Overview:

Provide assistance and support to the VP for Residential Programs and the work being carried out throughout Residential. The AVP works to assure that all residential programs and services are client focused and that permanency efforts are carried out. Responsibilities include oversight on the investigation and reporting of critical incidents, quality improvement activities, crisis management, policy development and implementation, staff training, and interfacing with ACS/OCFS/LDSS/CSE/other support departments within CV. The position also entails direct supervision of the Director of Specialized Treatment Programs and the programs that individual oversees as well as the Director of Support Services and the programs that individual directly oversees.

The AVP shows dedication and willingness to work alongside the ITM team, supporting and carrying out the functions of the model to best serve the population. The AVP is expected to have a nonjudgmental approach that focuses on skill building and basic principles of behavior modification (reinforcement, extinction, blocking and shaping). The AVP is required to function as part of a team, committing to modeling pro social behavior and building positive relationships with all residents, families, stakeholders and staff.

Position Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree in Social Work, Counseling or equivalent field
  • Knowledge and experience in child welfare, juvenile justice, required.
  • Demonstrated experience in program/policy development
  • Five years of experience in residential setting with youth, minimum.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Demonstrated strong interpersonal skills
  • Demonstrated administrative and supervisory skills, maturity and flexibility, and ability to adapt sound business concepts and practices to the structure and philosophy of a residential treatment setting.
  • Knowledge of personnel management, fiscal matters, quality assurance activities and goal setting.

Salary: $140,000 annual ( Flat Rate )
