A Service Advisor is responsible for directing, performing, and evaluating the repair and servicing of customer vehicles. Routinely advise, consult, and help the service technicians. They are also responsible for equipment repair schedules and records, including meeting any deadlines or requests by the Store Manager. Additionally, the Service Advisor must have knowledge of repair procedures. They must inspect shop facilities to ensure safety and efficiency and inspect work while it is being done and after it is completed. Additionally, Service Advisor must also provide any other assistance when needed either in the shop or assisting on the counter with customers , creating quotes , sales and cashing out customers .
COMPENSATION: $17-$22/hr, depending on experience.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
Manage and maintain work environment safety, perform inspections, and ensure adherence to regulations.
Train and mentor service technicians
Coordinate work among service technicians, and perform vehicle inspections and repairs.
Perform maintenance and repair on customer vehicles.
Identify problems with vehicles using the diagnostic equipment.
Explain automotive repairs and issues and provide great customer service.
Plan repair procedures using charts, manuals and experience.
Test the functionality of parts and systems
Perform basic auto care and maintenance tasks such as oil changes, fluid
level checks, and tire rotation.
Repair and replace brake pads, wheel bearings, sensors and other parts.
Perform routine maintenance and general mechanic work on vehicles.
Manage inventory by performing various audits, making certain inventory is put away in the designated location, etc.
Perform vehicle “exit” checklist for every vehicle serviced.
Willingness to learn with hands-on training.
Help keep repair shop clean and organized.
Keep a professional appearance.
Qualifications :
High School Diploma or equivalent
Prior experience as a Service Advisor is helpful, but not required
Professional appearance and proven ability to work in a process driven environment
Possess valid driver's license, or obtain a valid driver's license within 30 days of hire date
Ability to work a minimum of five days per week, including Saturday's
