Summary

The Department of Sociology, Anthropology and Criminal Justice welcomes applications for one-year, renewable hire (non-tenure track) position to begin Fall 2022.

The department offers a wide range of criminal justice courses with an emphasis on criminal justice systems, criminology, victimization and social justice, addressing the needs of a diverse student body with many first-generation college students from the Chicago area. Core responsibilities include teaching and mentoring, and utilization of instructional technology and student learning assessments.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

The successful candidate will have an earned Ph.D. in Criminal Justice or Criminology, a demonstrated record of university-level teaching effectiveness in the context of diverse learners, a commitment to advising, mentoring and internship supervision, an appropriate record of scholarship with clear potential for continued productivity, and an interest in curriculum and program innovation. Experience in program assessment and online/hybrid teaching is desirable.
