Assistant Professor of Physics Job at Wartburg College
QUALIFICATIONS:
Ph.D. or ABD in Physics or related field; ability to teach introductory and upper-level physics courses, as well as
general education courses; evidence of potential for teaching excellence. Preference will be given to candidates
with an interest in teaching astronomy and overseeing the Wartburg Platte Observatory.
Successful candidates will also have a demonstrated commitment to promoting diversity, inclusion, and cultural
competence in an educational and work environment and must be willing to support the College’s mission and
contribute to the strategic plan.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Teach the equivalent of seven undergraduate courses (approximately three each in both Fall and Winter Terms,
plus one during May Term), advise students, and engage in scholarship and service appropriate to the liberal arts
setting.
SALARY: Competitive
CONTRACT: Nine-month, tenure-track contract
